Fox Sports contacted us in the fall of 2016 as they were in the middle of revising their graphics system to enhance their viewer experience and evolve their brand identity. They wanted to make a statement in the world of sports broadcasting and redefine their on-air information systems to align with progressive UI/UX design advances, and eventually extend this new graphic system to their entire broadcast footprint. We were up for the task and eager to help them try to push the envelope in the industry.

In the world of sports broadcasting, the insert system and the constant score are the most-seen graphics in live event coverage, essentially becoming the brand identity of the network. Fox Sports wanted their new on-air identity to be clean, smart and sophisticated while projecting a bold, colorful, cliché-breaking attitude that is essential to the Fox Sports brand. We delivered several motion studies to the Fox Sports team and hope to discover that our work has inspired a new progressive graphics system while watching an NFL or MLB game someday.

We were tapped by Fox sports to do a bunch of different concepts, which meant trying out several quite a few typefaces. Including but not limited to Trade Gothic, Univers, Gotham, Unit Slab Pro, Din, Helvetica, and Brown.
