Your data deserves to be beautiful.

Years ago, our work with National Geographic got us thinking about beautiful interactive 3D globes. The need came from trying to visualize data from around the world in an easy to use yet elegant way, and the idea never really left us. Could we create a globe platform that would fit our own exacting demands, with the level of customizability and performance that we'd expect as designers and developers? We thought we could. So we did. In 2017, GlobeKit was born.

We’ve been using GlobeKit in projects for clients like PayPal, GitHub, and Hertz, but as we were nearing the 1.0 GK public release, we knew we needed to launch a new marketing site. It needed to show off the flexibility of GlobeKit, so we built 6 different globes, each with their own visualization style. We also wanted to showcase GlobeKit’s power and efficiency, so we made sure the experience worked as seamlessly on mobile as it did on desktop. The site was designed as a simple single-page scrolling experience where users could quickly learn about the capabilities and value of GlobeKit using slide-out panels to provide more info.

Stylistically, we wanted this marketing site to be an evolution of the original GlobeKit site. With the visual showpiece of 6 different globes, we knew we'd want to change our colors to complement each. In order to maintain a sense of consistency across the experience, we'd need a strong typographic anchor. We wanted to stay within the Klim Type Foundry, but we needed more weight and more personality – Founders Grotesk checked all our boxes.
